Gordon (or Gordon the Toad) is a writer, poet and storyteller whose work explores the relationships between people, places and wildlife. A zoologist by training, Gordon finds that his animist practice and that scientific background combine to give a deep appreciation of the world around us… “and then we add spirits and life gets even more exciting!”
Animism is anchored in passionate relationships with the world around us – from individual species to landscapes, spirits and the flowing patterns of ecosystems. A lot of Gordon’s work revolves around recognising that passionate connection, nourishing it, and acting upon the inspiration if offers. His work is rooted in a shamanic practice that draws on the folklore and mythology of Britain while acknowledging techniques and principles from many parts of the world
